About Hubron: Our Story.

Hubron’s story starts with rubber production, laying the foundation for our expertise in material science. Though plastics were yet to take over, our early work established a reputation for quality and reliability that would carry forward into a new era.

Rubber production ceased, making way for Hubron’s first dedicated plastic masterbatch lines. With just three production lines and a small team, we began supplying black masterbatch to European resellers, planting the seeds for global growth.

The new PMU facility opened, increasing capacity to meet rising demand. A fourth production line (CP68) was added, and operations expanded to a 24/7 shift system, marking Hubron’s shift toward becoming a significant industry player.

The installation of Line 5 (BUSS Kneader) secured key contracts in the pressure pipe market, proving our ability to meet high-performance demands. Success followed in Australia, South Africa and beyond, despite competitive challenges.

After a period of financial restructuring, OBG acquired Hubron. Streamlined operations and a focus on higher-value business stabilised the company, setting the stage for sustainable growth.

The acquisition of Whittaker Technical Plastics expanded our capabilities into conductive compounds. Though challenging, this move reinforced Hubron’s commitment to innovation in niche markets.

Achieving ISO 14001 (2013) and ISO 45001 (2022) underscored our dedication to environmental responsibility and workplace safety, key pillars of our operational ethos.

A major plant expansion introduced twin-screw compounding technology, enabling advanced engineering polymer solutions. Consolidating production at Failsworth strengthened efficiency, ensuring Hubron remains agile in a rapidly evolving industry.
